Picturing LIFE

Picturing LIFE is an editorial design with a representative selection and comprehensive view of LIFE magazine’s achievement during its nearly four decades of publication. This book is focusing on the rise of photojournalism from 1936–72, as well as how the magazine was able to be the first publication with a focus on photographs that enabled the Americans to see life, to see the world, and to eyewitness great events. In addition to the publication, the project also includes a hypothetical installation to showcase the selective photographic works from its publication period. The installation outlines the magazine’s historical timeline that reflects the important events during certain times. Visitors are invited to explore the content with interactive gestures.
